F I R S T A P P E A R A N C E
Our beloved trio first appears in chapter 246 (technically at the end of 245) in the Bleach Manga, and episode 146 in the Bleach Anime.
Ichigo, Sado, and Ishida, set out to Hueco Mundo in order to save Inoue. As they enter the Hollow world, they realize its a huge wasteland (desert) and head out to the large building in the distance called Las Noches (The Nights). On their way, they see a little girl being chased by 3 monsters. Ichigo, Sado and Ishida attack the monsters and save the little girl, but she suddenly asks them to stop bullying her friends since they haven't done anything wrong.
The little girl turns out to be an arrancar and introduces herself as Nel Tu, and her friends as Pesshe, Dondo Chakka, and Bawabawa. They tell Ichigo and the others that they are siblings and that Bawabawa is their pet. Ichigo of course doesn't believe them and tells them there's no way they can be related, which makes them freak out so Ichigo takes back what he said. Ichigo keeps asking them questions which makes Nel wonder why an arrancar would ask so many questions but yet again they don't look like arrancar. Nel and the others then find out that Ichigo is a Shinigami, Ishida a Quincy, and Sado a human. They all freak out and think they are going to kill them, but Ichigo explains they're not. After a series of events, Ichigo saves Nel and shows her he's not a bad guy. The 3 become attached to Ichigo and lead the way to Las Noches.
D E S C R I P T I O N
Nel, Pesshe and Dondo Chakka, are very different from all the hollows and arrancar Ichigo has faced. These 3 have a child-like attitude (they like to play games and talk all cute :P) and don't seem to be violent or evil like most hollows seem to be. They actually become attached to Ichigo and the others and become their friends. (and they get involved in several hilarious situations at the same time XD)
Pesshe and Dondo Chakka say they became Nel's brothers because they thought she was cute, and they all believe they are siblings even if they aren't really related. They have a pet called Bawabawa (which is a huge worm-like hollow) who is also as friendly as those 3. They like to play games, especially eternal tag, because there is not much to do in Hueco Mundo.
SPOILERS Our trio is new to the anime but has been in the manga for a while now. The latest manga chapters have shown us who these 3 really are. Of course the biggest shock is who Nel turns out to be (I wont spoil it) and we learn that Pesshe and Dondo Chakka are in fact her servants, and decided to protect her this way since she had lost all of her memories. The 3 turn out to be quite powerful and were feared by certain arrancar until they were attacked by Nnoitra and Szayelaporro (sorry if I mispelled a name).
