Kazuki Yuichi is one of the 2 main characters of the manga Sono Yuubi dake ga shitte iru (only the ring finger knows), which was based on the novel of the same name. In the first pages of the story, he is described as "Handsome, intelligent. . .tall and popular. . .kind and gentle to everyone he meets. . .he is like a diagram for the perfect human being". Kazuki comes from a wealthy family, and is currently a senior. All the girls in school go nuts over him, and even girls outside the school are big fans of him.
Kazuki meets Wataru at the water fountain one day while handing a handkerchief to Wataru so he can dry his face. Wataru addresses him accidentaly in a casual manner, but for some reason this makes Kazuki mad and he is everything but kind towards Wataru. After their first encounter, Kazuki arrives at Wataru's classroom demanding to have his ring back, which Wataru had taken by mistake since apparently both he and Kazuki share the same ring. Kazuki describes his ring as something very important to him since a very dear friend gave it to him.
Throughout the story, Kazuki seems very cold and distant towards Wataru, which he doesn't seem to understand since Kazuki is nice to everyone, even his smile is warmer towards others than him. But one day, as Wataru delievers a present his sister asked him to give Kazuki from a friend of hers, Kazuki lets his guard down by showing a surprised yet happy look which suggets to Wataru that Kazuki was happy thinking it was from him. Especially after he returned it after Wataru told him it wasn't from him. But despite his cold manner afterwards, Wataru later discovers that Kazuki took the trouble to go all the way to his sister's school to formally decline her friend's confession. Throughout the story, Kazuki seems cool and unaffected, but always so cold to Wataru, despite many times he suddenly shows up to help him out but he teases him most of the time. Kazuki notices that Wataru is aware of him, which is why he always does things to prove it.
At the end of the first novel, it is discovered that the reason why Kazuki cherished his ring so much was because he had asked a dear friend of his to make an exact replica of the ring that belonged to the person he loved. Turns out Kazuki had fallen in love with Wataru one day after finding his ring accidentaly. He looked at some pictures and identified Wataru as the owner, then he secretly placed the ring on his desk to see his reaction, and Wataru's smile stole his heart in a second.
Kazuki is a very good guy, very kind and overall innocent. He loved Wataru in secret for so long and meeting him made him so nervous that he acted distant probably so Wataru wouldn't notice how much he longed to be with him, or how interested he was in him. In their relationship, Kazuki is always the teaser, but Wataru is just too funny and obedient so its so easy for Kazuki to push his buttons especially after he knows that Wataru is highly aware of him. :P
